The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) will begin the viva-voce segment of 37th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations on November 29. Reports Dhaka Tribune
The preliminary test of the 38th edition will also be held on December 29, BPSC Chairman Mohammad Sadiq told after a meeting at the commission office in Dhaka on Tuesday.
“These decisions were taken at today’s meeting. We have also decided to send a proposal to the Public Administration Ministry to amend the policy before the 39th BCS exams,” he said.
BPSC on October 25 published the written test results of 37th BCS exams. A total 5,379 candidates passed it in different cadre positions.
Among them, 2,943 passed in the general cadre category, 1,701 in the general and technical/professional categories and 735 in the technical/professional category.
Also, 434 candidates qualified in the assistant surgeon cadre and seven in the assistant dental surgeon cadre.
On February 29 last year, BPSC had issued the circular for the 37th BCS exams to recruit 1,226 government employees.
A total 243,476 candidates sat for the preliminary examination held in September that year. Among them, 8,523 candidates cleared it and qualified to sit for the written test held in May this year.
